The event
Brett Mercury makes us discover the timeless world of British Pop with a subtle blend of modernity mixed with folk from the West American counties. If you are fans of Police, U2, Dire Straits, Genesis, Oasis or Muse, you will certainly like this album. Who likes Bruce Springsteen, Nirvana, Metallica will undoubtedly like Time is my Friend album with skilfully diluted mixtures.
All these influences can be felt in this album, but Brett Mercury has his own unique universe. Each song is a story, a moment in our lives. The smile of the fans, the passage of time, the end of the world (title played exclusively for the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall), virtual love (Paris Night), the permanent fight of Man (Man is a Warrior) are as many chapters of the human being as everyone can recognize.
Each song is available in 3 versions – studio, unplugged and instrumental.
– The studio version sounds typically british whith nice guitares, drums and rhythms. The voice, is particular and characteristic and the texts are simple enough with easy choruses.
– The unplugged versions are dynamic, very rock, pure. They alone deserve the honors. The unplugged versions have a west american touch of modernity from 2020.
– The instrumental versions demonstrate that Brett Mercury is not only an excellent songwriter, but that all of his music alone deserves to be listened to.
Time is my Friend is an excellent positive album to be discovered with a smile, good humor and a touch of nostalgia.
